There is version with or without the center patch from Vietnam. It is a vintage piece of woven tapestry woven by the Hmong Hill tribe in northern Vietnam.

This sewing pattern was originally just one size but I just created a new petite version that is slighty more narrow then the regular so that it wont be too baggy for my xs/s peeps ;)

This is the Henka Dress, a new sewing pattern to Zhinh.

A versatile and transformable design, it comfortably fits sizes small through large. It can be worn loose for an effortless, flowy look or tied at the back with a pinched gather for a more sculpted shape.

The name Henka comes from the Japanese word for transformation, speaking to the fluid and evolving nature of this design. Inspired by Japanese silhouettes

This dress honors change. It is made to shift with your body, your mood

What is Kala Cotton?

Kala cotton is a rain-fed, organic cotton ( organic by nature) and is even more sustainable then your typical marketed "organic cotton" that grows in the Kachchh (or Kutch) region of Gujarat, India.
It’s one of the oldest, most resilient forms of cotton indigenous to the Indian subcontinent.

Why it’s Special:

  • Grows without irrigation: It thrives in dry, arid conditions without needing synthetic inputs or extra water.
  • No pesticides or chemical fertilizers
  • Naturally pest-resistant and resilient: It can survive harsh climates, making it one of the most eco-friendly cotton varieties available.
  • Indigenous and ancestral: Kala cotton is part of ancient Indian agricultural traditions and has been cultivated for generations and this Kala cotton is bought straight from the creators of it
  • Becomes Softer with each wash, super durable

Cultural and Ethical Impact:

  • Sourcing Kala cotton supports indigenous farmers and traditional weavers in Gujarat.

Kala cotton fabrics are handwoven by artisan cooperatives, keeping craft heritage alive and craft economies thriving.
