About the Fabric:

The fabrics I've chosen for these wrap skirts are crafted from agricultural waste: or the discarded peels of oranges collected from restaurants, the remnants of lotus plants from organic farms after bloom n harvest and the unused parts of banana and aloe vera plants which many farms What would normally be forgotten byproducts are transformed through innovation into something wearable.

These plant wastes are brokendown and spun into soft, breathable fibers through a +closed loop viscose process...In contrast to traditional viscose, which uses harsh chemicals like carbon disulfide and releases toxic pollutants into waterways and factory air, this closed loop system recirculates the water and filters it and safely recaptures the water and solvents (up to 99%) used and reuses them over again and is not released in environment. It drastically reduces environmental impact while preserving the silklike feel and flow that viscose is known for.

These fibers are made in certified facilities with strong environmental and labor standards.

These skirts are in collaboration with my friends atelier in India where they help me sew and construct the skirts and then I dye and landscape them in my studio here in LA and then ship them to you <3
